Air AsiaX Withdraw Service from the UK
23 January 2012
Effective 01 April, 2012
To our valued customers
We regret to inform you that Air Asia X will withdraw their service from London Gatwick Airport to Kuala Lumpur with the change to the Summer 2012 schedule which is effective 01April2012. Our last scheduled flight to operate is D11/31mar2012.
The current operating environment has forced the cancellation of the service. All opportunities were explored but unfortunately none were financial viable. High fuel prices, pending implementation of the Emissions Trading Scheme ( Carbon Tax) and the prevailing Air Passenger Duty Tax all contributed to the decision.
From Network Cargo Systems and our partner ANA Aviation Services, we value your business and the relationship’s we have formed during this Venture. Air Asia was an unknown to the UK market when we launched our service, but through cooperation between us all I believe it was a successful venture.
Until the end of March, we will continue to deliver the customer service you can count on. We are also working on a few opportunities to keep the Air Asia Service in the UK market whereby we link-up with a few partners to provide us capacity into Kuala Lumpur with a connection to Air Asia into a various strong connections within Asia and Australia. We will provide details as soon as they become available.
Again, thank you for your contributions and continued support.
Yours truly,
Paul Umpleby
