Allied to Operate MD11F Freighter Services

Allied Air, the Nigerian All-Cargo Airline operating a fleet of Boeing 727 Freighter Aircraft within West Africa, have successfully signed a long term wet-lease agreement with World Airways for initially one MD11F Freighter, which will commence operations with Allied Air on the 01st October 2008 with an option for a second aircraft to join the fleet early in 2009.

The World Airways MD11F will be used by Allied Air on its schedule services from Europe to Nigeria as well as expanding its route network throughout Africa and the Middle East.

Allied Air in conjunction with its worldwide cargo sales agents, ANA Aviation Services, currently carries in excess of 1,300 tonnes of cargo per month from Europe to West Africa through its Lagos Hub and where it offers full on-airport cargo warehouse and transit facilities.

World Airways operate a fleet of nine MD11F freighter aircraft and combined with Allied’s fleet of Boeing 727F’s, will be able to offer a formidable range of services as well as ad-hoc charter capacity with both types of aircraft on a worldwide basis.
